It’s
amazing how our true selves are exposed under the threat of any storm. All our
weak areas, which are usually covered up by “works” are suddenly screaming out
in panic.
When
our comfort zone is threatened with the possibility of danger, lack or loss,
the holes in our hedges are exposed and also the deepest motives, intents and
condition of our hearts.
Our
reactions or responses reveal the reality of our mindsets, captured in the
heart – often without us knowing it.
To
just ignore these “revelations” of our true reality is to miss the opportunity
of growth and transformation.
So
let’s face our reality, bringing it before the Lord and mirror it in the truth
of the Word, with the purpose of getting renewed in the spirit of mind,
breaking out of restrictions and limitations (doubt, fear, unbelief,
comparisons with others, selfishness, etc.) that cause us to stay captive
within limited thinking.
Ask
the Holy Spirit to show you what needs to be transformed and release the old
mindsets completely – also by repentance - to intentionally pursue truth, being
renewed by it, building your house on the Rock of your salvation.
“Therefore whoever
hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who
built his house on the rock: 25and the rain descended,
the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not
fall, for it was founded on the rock.
“But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do
them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand: 27and the rain descended, the
floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell. And great
was its fall.”
Matthew 7:24-27 KJV
