It
is amazing to watch how people live behind facades of make-belief, not knowing
that freedom lies in the new life in Christ, where everything is in the light
of truth because we are already accepted by God in the Beloved with no need to
pretend or to hide.
If
you find yourself hiding behind the mask of pretense or putting up a show of
godliness to be acceptable, esteemed, approved of, etc. you are actually living
a lie, with the mask of a religious spirit which is soaked in pride, called
hypocrisy.
In
the light of God’s countenance nothing can be hidden. His brilliant light
exposes everything to the core and we suddenly find that we have nothing and
are nothing apart from Him. Then, having discarded the filthy rags of
self-righteousness, we are offered His robe of righteousness – to be clothed in
Him in transparent light, which is the outshining of truth – simple and
unpretentious like a child. That’s how we inherit the Kingdom. And that is true
freedom in the spirit – letting Him live His life through us. Hallelujah!
