Delight yourself in the Lord

Lesson 31

"Seek you first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness and all else shall be added unto you”. (Matthew 6:33)

I am so aware of the Lord’s gracious involvement with us in the smallest details of our lives as we simply live before Him in worship.

He answers the smallest little desires of our hearts, often without us even asking or praying about it. It delights Him when we delight ourselves in Him, just walking with Him, talking to Him and enjoying His Presence.

And then, as we first seek the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, “all else” is added unto us by His grace.

It is also amazing how God provides for the people who approach me with issues and questions, asking for counsel and wisdom. He simply bring things to my attention by drawing my attention to something - picking up a book here or listening to a teaching about something which I am not pursuing, to fill my arsenal with the knowledge and wisdom regarding certain issues in people’s lives so that I can only be a channel for His loving counsel to them.

His love is so tangible and His care for us in the little things (which are actually so BIG when we realize the the Almighty God who created the universe, takes interest in the littlest details of our needs and desires, as we delight ourselves in Him.  I worship Him for it!

Psalm 37.

“Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity.
2 For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb.
3 Trust in the Lord, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.
4 Delight thyself also in the Lord: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.

5 Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.
6 And he shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light, and thy judgment as the noonday.
7 Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.
8 Cease from anger, and forsake wrath: fret not thyself in any wise to do evil.
9 For evildoers shall be cut off: but those that wait upon the Lord, they shall inherit the earth.”
